An accidental heatstroke is being blamed for former NFL player Marion Barber’s death.
Former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber III was found dead in his apartment in Frisco, Texas last month.
He was only 38.
Police were out conducting a welfare check when they found Barber unresponsive in his apartment, according to reports.
The Collin County medical examiner ruled Marion Barber’s death an accident, AP reported.
“According to the autopsy report, a bathtub faucet in Barber’s apartment was running when officers arrived and the unit’s thermostat was set to 91 degrees with the heat set to “on.”” the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
“Mr. Barber was known to exercise in saunalike conditions,” the coroner said.
No other details about Barber’s death were released.
