Democrats are in panic mode over President Trump destroying Biden’s legacy and reshaping the federal government to benefit all Americans. Now, one Democrat Senator is prepared to resort to extreme measures to stop Trump.
During an interview with leftist host Kristen Welker on NBC’s Meet The Press, Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ) was asked to weigh in on Trump and DOGE’s actions when the host asked a pointed question:
Your colleague, Jeff Merkley, said he is prepared to shut down the government over these sledgehammer actions that he is seeing from Elon Musk. Are you prepared to shut down the government to join Democrat colleagues who want to stand in the way of keeping government open?” Welker queried.
Kim replied by whining that the Trump administration is “trying to dismantle” the federal government before answering in the affirmative.

“Yes. Look, if we have to take steps to be able to hold them accountable…I cannot support efforts that will continue this lawlessness when it comes to this administration’s actions,” Kim stated.
“For us to support government funding only for them to turn around only for them to turn around and dismantle the government, that is something that should not be allowed,” he added.
Welker then doeblechecked to make sure she heard Kim right that he was ready to shut down the government. Kim affirmed this was true while saying it on Republicans to come up with the votes on their own to keep it open.
Just imagine the reactions from the corporate press if a Republican senator tried to pull this stunt with a Democrat President.
One could say that closing down the government is a natural next step for Democrats considering all of their insane meltdowns last week including in front of the Department of Education building. Recall that federal officers reportedly had to be called to the scene.
But Kim might be doing conservatives a favor not only because a shutdown stunt would likely backfire, but because it would also expose how worthless most government programs are. This would prove the point of DOGE more than anything.
