Democrats don’t have a leader after voters rejected the Biden-Harris-Obama agenda.
On Thursday, Minnesota Democrat Senator Tina Smith announced she will not be seeking reelection in 2026.
“I’ve decided not to run for re-election to the Senate in 2026,” Tina Smith said in a video posted to X.
“This job has been the honor of a lifetime. For the rest of my term, I’ll work as hard as I can for Minnesotans and our country,” she said.
Tina Smith insisted her decision to retire was not political even though the Democrat party is in shambles.
“This decision is not political, it is entirely personal. But it’s not lost on me that our country is in need of strong progressive leadership right now, maybe more than ever,” she said.

Last month Democrat Michigan Senator Gary Peters announced he won’t run for reelection.
