Former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (RINO-KY) is going out with what he surely considers a ‘bang’ as he once again was the ONLY GOP vote against Trump’s cabinet picks.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, the Senate confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as America’s new Secretary of Health and Human Services Thursday, by a 52-48 margin. Every Democrat opposed his nomination, while McConnell chose to stand against his constituents’ will and the direction President Trump set.
As Fox News’s Chad Pergram reported, McConnell gave a nasty speech on the Senate floor following the vote explaining why he voted against RFK Jr and the Make America Healthy Again movement.
McConnell first turned to a predictable target every critic has used against RFK. Jr: vaccines.
“I’m a survivor of childhood polio,” McConnell said. “In my lifetime, I’ve watched vaccines save millions of lives from devastating diseases across America and around the world.
“I will not condone the re-litigation of proven cures, and neither will millions of Americans who credit their survival and quality of life to scientific miracles.”
McConnell then viciously attacked RFK Jr. as a “dangerous conspiracy theorist” and accused him of “eroding trust in public institutions.” It should be noted McConnell never used this kind of language when referring to Anthony Fauci, a key villain during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Individuals, parents, and families have a right to push for a healthier nation and demand the best possible scientific guidance on preventing and treating illness,” he added. “But a record of trafficking in dangerous conspiracy theories and eroding trust in public health institutions does not entitle Mr. Kennedy to lead these important efforts.”
McConnell again turned to the topic of vaccines while continuing to bash RFK. Jr.
“This Administration – led by the same President who delivered a medical miracle with Project Warp Speed – deserves a leader who is willing to acknowledge without qualification the efficacy of life-saving vaccines and who can demonstrate an understanding of basic elements of the U.S. healthcare system,” McConnell stated. “Mr. Kennedy failed to prove he is the best possible person to lead America’s largest health agency. As he takes office, I sincerely hope Mr. Kennedy will choose not to sow further doubt and division but to restore trust in our public health institutions.”
McConnell’s tirade follows another one he unleashed yesterday against Tulsi Gabbard after she was confirmed as Trump’s Director of National Intelligence (DNI). He called Gabbard “unworthy of the highest public trust” while smearing her record defending America’s civil liberties and America-First foreign policy.
McConnell has no business serving in Congress anymore and should retire immediately for his own sake.
