JUST IN: Democrat Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs Vetoes Bill to Speed Up Vote Counting Process

Katie Hobbs screams at reporters asking about alleged pay for play scheme

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs on Tuesday vetoed a bill to speed up Arizona’s vote-counting process by requiring in-person mail-in ballot drop-offs to be completed before Election Day.

Under the new law, voters would still be allowed to send in their ballot or deliver their ballot to the County Recorder’s office by 7 pm on election day, but early in-person drop-offs in ballot drop boxes must be completed by 7 pm on Friday before election day.

It can be recalled that Katie Hobbs stole her election for Governor from Trump-Endorsed Kari Lake when 60% of voting machines failed on election day, and thousands of fraudulent mail-in ballots were inserted into the system.

Hobbs claimed in her veto letter that this law would somehow “needlessly restrict Arizona citizens’ right to vote, or undermine the learning and safety of students in public school districts.”

“The focus of this legislation is disenfranchising eligible voters,” Hobbs baselessly claimed, reminding the legislature that she wants “same day voter registration” to be included in the bill.

It takes time to add all those fraudulent ballots, and Hobbs is not going to approve any law that jeopardizes her reelection.

As noted by Kari Lake War Room, this is an “act of self-preservation” for Hobbs. “Why help fix our elections when you’re only in office because of a broken one?” they ask.

You almost can’t blame @katiehobbs for this act of self-preservation.

Why help fix our elections when you’re only in office because of a broken one?

Hobbs needs a miracle to be “re-elected,” & those “miracles” are often found when counting ballots for WEEKS after Election Day. https://t.co/NwORqEbl9r

This comes as Republicans in Arizona seek to mirror Florida’s vote-counting procedure and deliver election results as quickly as possible to increase public trust in the results.

Arizona House Republicans have also passed a concurrent resolution to send the issue to the ballot and let voters decide.

U.S. Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has announced his candidacy for governor in 2026, and he is expected to win the Republican nomination and face Katie Hobbs in the general election.
