Two alleged gang members were charged with the murder of Brianna Long, a beautiful Georgia college student who died after getting struck by a stray bullet while working at a bar near Valdosta State University in October 2023.
Police finally arrested two men and charged them with one count of malice murder more than a year after Long’s death.
21-year-old Brianna Long was a former high school beauty queen, soccer star, and cheerleader.
Brianna Long was hit by a stray bullet while she was working at The Pier Bar on October 29, 2023 after a fight broke out in front of the establishment.
Long’s co-worker was also struck by a bullet, but he survived.
The two gang members, Tsion Clayton, 23, and Kimone Green, 21, were already in custody on unrelated charges, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police said more charges are expected.
“The GBI has charged Tsion Clayton, age 23, of Lowndes County, GA, and Kimone Green, age 21, of Lowndes County, GA, with one count of Malice Murder in connection to the death of Brianna Long on Sunday, October 29, 2023,” The Georgia Bureau of Investigations announced.
“The Remerton Police Department originally requested the GBI on October 29, 2023, at about 2:40 a.m., to investigate the death of Brianna Long and the aggravated assault on another employee at The Pier Bar where the two were working that night when they were both shot. Long died as a result of her injuries. The man later recovered from his injuries. The Valdosta Police Department Crime Scene Unit processed the scene that morning at the request of the Remerton Police Department,” GBI said.
“Both men are in custody for separate, unrelated cases. One is currently in custody in Georgia, and the other is in custody in Florida,” GBI said.
