President Donald Trump has officially declared political war on Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for opposing the Trump-backed funding bill aimed at preventing a government shutdown.

With the deadline to avert a partial government shutdown looming, President Trump has urged Republican lawmakers to rally behind a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded through September.

“The House and Senate have put together, under the circumstances, a very good funding Bill (“CR”)! All Republicans should vote (Please!) YES next week. Great things are coming for America, and I am asking you all to give us a few months to get us through to September so we can continue to put the Country’s “financial house” in order. Democrats will do anything they can to shut down our Government, and we can’t let that happen. We have to remain UNITED — NO DISSENT — Fight for another day when the timing is right. VERY IMPORTANT. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday.

However, Massie defiantly declared his opposition to the measure, branding it a capitulation to the status quo of reckless spending and bureaucratic bloat.

“Unless I get a lobotomy Monday that causes me to forget what I’ve witnessed the past 12 years, I’ll be a NO on the CR this week. It amazes me that my colleagues and many of the public fall for the lie that we will fight another day,” Rep. Thomas Massie wrote on Sunday.

In a separate post, Massie wrote, “The CR is a UNIPARTY deal. It doesn’t fund the wall. It does fund USAID. The democrats depart for a retreat on Wednesday, so they’ve already agreed to provide enough votes to pass the CR. Meanwhile, our election mandate will wane by this coming Sept.”

Massie made it clear he would not support the CR, stating, “I’m not voting for the Continuing Resolution budget (cut-copy-paste omnibus) this week. Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse DOGE has found? We were told the CR in December would get us to March when we would fight. Here we are in March, punting again! WTFO”

GOP strategist Chris LaCivita responded to Massie’s post, stating, “Tick Tock.”

Massie fired back at LaCivita, “Someone thinks they can control my voting card by threatening my re-election. Guess what? Doesn’t work on me. Three times I’ve had a challenger who tried to be more MAGA than me. None busted 25% because my constituents prefer transparency and principles over blind allegiance.”

One supporter weighed in, saying, “I feel your pain Congressman Massie. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place. the MAGA revolution must continue. We will never have another chance like this. Lose some battles now to win the big war later.”

Massie responded sharply, “The election was the war. You won it. Now Congress is squandering that victory.”

However, former President Donald Trump did not share Massie’s stance and responded with a blistering rebuke, calling for a primary challenge against him.

Thank you to the House Freedom Caucus for just delivering a big blow to the Radical Left Democrats and their desire to raise Taxes and SHUT OUR COUNTRY DOWN! They hate America and all it stands for. That’s why they allowed MILLIONS of Criminals to invade our Nation. Sometimes it takes great courage to do the right thing.

Congressman Thomas Massie, of beautiful Kentucky, is an automatic “NO” vote on just about everything, despite the fact that he has always voted for Continuing Resolutions in the past. HE SHOULD BE PRIMARIED, and I will lead the charge against him. He’s just another GRANDSTANDER, who’s too much trouble, and not worth the fight.

He reminds me of Liz Chaney before her historic, record breaking fall (loss!). The people of Kentucky won’t stand for it, just watch. DO I HAVE ANY TAKERS??? Anyway, thank you again to the House Freedom Caucus for your very important vote.

We need to buy some time in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. Unite and Win!!!
