A Boston National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team has had to change their name after transgender activists went crazy over their slogan.
In a marketing campaign late last year, the team unveiled the slogan: “Too many balls.”
The slogan was immediately deemed “transphobic” and a transgender Seattle Reign player named Quinn joined in to pile on the women’s team.
“Feels transphobic. Yikes,” the biological male soccer player wrote on Instagram.
The club apologized for the playful slogan, but the activists did not appear to relent.

The team was going to be named “BOS Nation FC,” but after the backlash from the marketing campaign, they decided to rebrand entirely.
On Friday, the team announced a new name would be decided in the coming weeks.
A statement from majority owner Jennifer Epstein read:
“The club extends our heartfelt thanks to our supporters, whose passionate voices we deeply value — not just for their unwavering support but also for their honest and critical feedback.”
“We could not have completed this process without your input. We aim to build a lasting legacy that makes all our fans feel welcome, connected, and proud to wear our colors and cheer our name for generations to come.”
The club also posted about the change on social media.

“Boston, you’ve waited long enough. We are changing our club name,” the team wrote, along with changing their name to “Coming Soon FC.”
