Reuters reported:
“Russia sees big prospects to work with the United States, including in the space sector, and expects to hold talks with Elon Musk soon about flying to Mars, President Vladimir Putin’s international cooperation envoy said on Tuesday.
Kirill Dmitriev, who was named by Putin last month as his special envoy on international economic and investment cooperation, said Russia’s ‘enemies’ were trying to derail U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to restore dialogue with Russia.”
Dmitriev is an official of no small worth in Russia. In addition to being the ‘special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation,’ he is also CEO of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund.
As he announced a meeting with Musk in the near future, he called him ‘a unique leader who aims to move humanity forward.’

“Dmitriev said that he discussed with Dmitry Bakanov, the head of Russia’s state space agency Roscosmos, the possibility of cooperation with the United States in space, in particular flights to Mars.”
