A former Department of Health and Human Services employee’s attempt to seek sympathy in the halls of Congress blew up in his face when he confronted freshman Senator Jim Banks (R-IN).
As TGP readers may know, the HHS has been conducting mass layoffs across the department, affecting roughly 10,000 full-time jobs. According to NBC News, these cuts are part of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s plan to drain the swamp and reshape the agency.
RFK Jr. is working with Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and wants to reduce the health department’s workforce from 82,000 to 62,000.
One man canned by HHS back in February went to Capitol Hill and decided to follow Banks around on Tuesday, demanding he stop the Trump Administration from continuing to implement these job cuts.
“Hi, I was a worker at HHS. I was fired illegally on February 14th,” the former bureaucrat told Banks. “There are many people who are not getting social service programs, especially people with disabilities.”
“Are you going to do anything to stop what’s happening?” he asked.
Banks had no sympathy for the unemployed worker pestering him and proceeded to deliver him a reality check.
“You probably deserved it,” Banks retorted.
Banks’s blunt reply stunned the woke leftist, who was apparently looking for a shoulder to cry on.
“I deserved it? That’s great to hear. Wow,” he replied. “Why did I deserve it?”
Banks responded by delivering a mic drop moment before the elevator closed.
“Because you seem like a clown,” Banks said with a smirk.
