One of the most dishonest ‘reporters’ on cable news ended up red-faced this morning after trying to ‘educate’ Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on tariffs.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the implementation of a 10% baseline tariff on all imports, effective April 5, 2025. The worst offenders will be hit with even tougher measures on April 9.
Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, President Trump proclaimed April 2 as “Liberation Day,” marking a new era of economic independence. He emphasized that this measure is essential to protect American jobs and revitalize domestic manufacturing.
The White House also released a detailed chart showing how badly many countries have been ripping off American workers, charging high tariffs on U.S. goods while benefiting from America’s generosity in return.
The markets responded with massive daily losses, giving fodder to the left. Unsurprisingly, CNN’s Jake Tapper decided to use the market meltdown to try to embarrass Rollins.
“The reason that the European Union…Don’t take as much American pork as you would like is because they have issues with hormones used in pork,” Tapper said. “I don’t want to get into all of that because it is not an issue about tariffs.”
Tapper then attempted a gotcha question on how the tariffs were calculated before Rollins stopped him to correct him on a glaring misstatement in his previous comments.
“Wait! Hold on, Jake! No, no, no!” She interjected. “Here’s the bottom line: They (the Europeans) are using fake science and unsubstantiated claims to not take our products.”
“So it isn’t just they have high tariffs; thank you for making this point for me…It’s the way they’ve treated our products,” Rollins added. “(They say) ‘Oh, sorry, we can’t take your beef since 2002 because you use a certain type of feed.
“That’s absolute bull. Our farmers and ranchers produce the safest, most secure, and best food in the world!”

Tapper then turned his focus to the stock market in an effort to discredit Trump’s decision on tariffs, but Rollins would not bite. Then, she caught him a huge whopper.
“You’ve got two days of data, especially on the left…” Rollins said.
“I’m not on the left,” Tapper said with a straight face.
“Alright, Jake. Thank you.” Rollins retorted with a laugh.
