On Sunday, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz revealed what he calls “conclusive evidence” of Iran’s support for Hamas’ for the October 7 terrorist attacks as well as a broader plan to help the terrorist group “destroy Israel” through intercepted communications between Tehran and slain Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif.
The document was intercepted by Israeli soldiers during the invasion of Gaza and sent to the IDF intelligence Catalogue unit.
During remarks to IDF’s intelligence unit for Technical Collection and Analysis (AMSHAT), Katz claimed Sinwar and Deif asked for $500 million from Iran’s Quds Force commander sometime before October 7. The funds would embolden Hamas’ efforts to “annihilate Israel and confront the United States.”
According to Katz, that request was granted.
Katz said that Izadi said he would approve the terror financing assistance despite Tehran being under financial strain and sanctions because of the supreme importance of embracing conflict against Israel and the US.
He added that the world must realize that Iran is “the head of the snake” which has directed the malign activities of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and terror groups in Syria and Iraq.
Despite the develation, Israeli intelligence has said Iran did not know the exact timing or plans of the October 7 invasion, but rather has focused on the idea that Hamas could not have pulled off the without IRGC training, weapons, and funding.
Katz shared on X, “During my visit today to the IDF intelligence unit, I revealed a classified document found in senior Hamas tunnels in Gaza. It proves direct ties between Iran and Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif — and Iran’s support for Hamas’s plan to destroy Israel and for the October 7 massacre.”
“In the document, Hamas demands $500 million from the IRGC’s Quds Force to fund Israel’s destruction.”
“Izadi, head of the IRGC’s Palestinian department, replies that despite Iran’s economic crisis and the suffering of its people, Tehran will continue financing Hamas — because fighting Israel and the U.S. is the regime’s top priority.”
“The conclusion is clear: Iran is the head of the snake.”
“Despite its denials, Iran is actively funding and fueling terror across all fronts — from Gaza and Lebanon to Syria, Judea & Samaria, and the Houthis in Yemen — under the banner of destroying Israel.”
“Israel will do whatever it takes to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and will continue striking its terror proxies until the Iranian axis of evil is dismantled.”
