A fundraiser supporting the family of accused murderer Karmelo Anthony has raised over $164,000 on GiveSendGo.

Anthony fatally stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a track meet in Frisco, Texas, on April 2.

Metcalf, a junior at Frisco Memorial High School, died in the arms of his twin brother.

According to reports, the confrontation began when Austin asked Anthony, from Frisco Centennial High School, to move from under the Memorial High School team’s tent.

Metcalf allegedly moved Anthony’s backpack, leading to him pulling a knife from his backpack and stabbing the honor roll student in the chest.

Over 30 students and staff witnessed the stabbing.

The family of the killer is now playing victim and collecting cash from supporters who believe Anthony was acting in self-defense by stabbing Metcalf.

“The narrative being spread is false, unjust, and harmful,” the fundraiser states. “As a family of faith, we are deeply grateful for all of your support during this trying period. Your prayers and assistance mean more to us now more than ever.”

As of noon on April 7, the fundraiser had raked in $164,707. The goal has been set to $200,000.

A fundraiser for Metcalf’s family has raised over $250,000 on GoFundMe.

The description reads:

I am Jeff Metcalf. My son, Austin Metcalf, was tragically stabbed today at a school track meet. They were not able to save him. He was a bright young man with a great future ahead of him. He was a leader of men. His smile would light up the room. His passion for football was unbelievable. Voted team MVP this past season and carried a 4.0 GPA. He was looking forward to taking his game to the next level. His commitment, dedication, leadership, and sheer grit made him rise to the level of success that he desired. His twin brother, Hunter, played beside him. We will all remember him for the way he impacted others’ lives. I love you forever, son. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. God will take care of us till we meet again. RIP. Love, Dad

Anthony has admitted to the stabbing and was charged with first-degree murder.

According to the arrest report, Anthony told police, “I’m not alleged, I did it,” while also claiming it was an act of self-defense.
