President Trump announced Tuesday morning that he spoke with the acting President of South Korea, Han Duck-soo, and a team from South Korea was already on the plane to the U.S. to negotiate trade, tariffs, and “other subjects.”

“We talked about their tremendous and unsustainable Surplus, Tariffs, Shipbuilding, large scale purchase of U.S. LNG, their joint venture in an Alaska Pipeline, and payment for the big time Military Protection we provide to South Korea,” Trump said. “They began these Military payments during my first term, Billions of Dollars, but Sleepy Joe Biden, for reasons unknown, terminated the deal. That was a shocker to all!”

Tariffs against U.S. trading partners, announced Wednesday, are set to take effect tonight at midnight.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump also announced on Monday that President Trump had spoken to the Japanese Prime Minister on Monday morning, and that Japan’s “top team” of negotiators would be meeting with U.S. officials to strike a new tariff agreement.

He further commented on China’s rebellion against the tariffs, saying they “badly” want to make a deal, but “they don’t know how to get it started.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump got tougher on China, announcing harsher tariffs Monday. He announced 50% tariffs in addition to the 34% he imposed last week on Chinese goods after China threatened 34% retaliatory tariffs. Tonight, 104% tariffs on Chinese imports will be imposed.

Trump released the following statement regarding his call with South Korea on Tuesday morning:

I just had a great call with the Acting President of South Korea. We talked about their tremendous and unsustainable Surplus, Tariffs, Shipbuilding, large scale purchase of U.S. LNG, their joint venture in an Alaska Pipeline, and payment for the big time Military Protection we provide to South Korea. They began these Military payments during my first term, Billions of Dollars, but Sleepy Joe Biden, for reasons unknown, terminated the deal. That was a shocker to all!

In any event, we have the confines and probability of a great DEAL for both countries. Their top TEAM is on a plane heading to the U.S., and things are looking good. We are likewise dealing with many other countries, all of whom want to make a deal with the United States. Like with South Korea, we are bringing up other subjects that are not covered by Trade and Tariffs, and getting them negotiated also.

“ONE STOP SHOPPING” is a beautiful and efficient process!!! China also wants to make a deal, badly, but they don’t know how to get it started. We are waiting for their call. It will happen! GOD BLESS THE USA.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt expanded on the President’s comments regarding China during a press briefing on Tuesday, adding that “The President, when America is punched, he punches back harder.” She continued, “If China reaches out to make a deal, he will be incredibly gracious, but he’s going to do what’s best for the American people.”

However, Leavitt said, “it would be imprudent” to reveal under what conditions President Trump would consider reducing China’s tariffs.

WATCH:

He believes that China wants to make a deal with the United States. He believes China has to make a deal with the United States. It was a mistake for China to retaliate. The President, when America is punched, he punches back harder. That’s why there will be 104% tariffs going into effect on China tonight at midnight, but the President believes that Xi and China want to make a deal. They just don’t know how to get that started. And the President also wanted me to tell all of you that if China reaches out to make a deal, he will be incredibly gracious, but he’s going to do what’s best for the American people.
