War Room’s Steve Bannon talked with Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton on Saturday. They discussed the corruption of the deep state, including at the FBI. Fitton explained that President Trump almost went to jail during his own administration.
“The FBI and the DOJ came that close, within a micro millimeter, of jailing President Trump, and not just me and Navarro. I’m talking about others, but jailing President Trump for 20 or 30 years for nothing, totally made up,” Bannon said.
“We need immediately, a special counsel designated by the President, to report to the President as the Chief Magistrate and Chief Law Enforcement officer,” Bannon continued.
Bannon explained that Fitton’s tireless efforts had restrained the Obama administration’s already out-of-control overreach.
“Tom Fitton has been in these trenches for 15 plus years. If it was not for Tom Fitton, the Obama administration would have been 10 times more out-of-control than it was,” Bannon said.
“A country has got to get control of the border. The people have got to get control of the border in order to have a country that you can actually call a nation-state. You also need to get control of the administrative state,” Fitton explained.
“Political control of the administrative state has got to be job number one, two or three for President Trump, and he has made significant strides there,” Fitton said.
Fitton also explained that agencies like the FBI and DOJ do not have the kind of accountability that is needed when it comes to budget and lawfare. He explained that an agency like DOGE could hold them accountable for budgets.
“Let’s stop pretending that the FBI is controllable in terms of budget and size. Let’s stop pretending DOJ is controllable in terms of budget and size. So, there needs to be a., a DOGE approach to both agencies and there needs to be an approach treating them like Department of Education and DOGE,” Fitton said.
Fitton also explained to Bannon the importance of holding accountable those people in these agencies that have waged lawfare against their political enemies.
“In terms of the lawfare, there has got to be accountability for it,” Fitton said.
“Remember, Trump was almost jailed during the Trump administration,” Fitton said.
“It’s a question of are these agencies subject to the rule of law? There is no evidence the FBI thinks it is subjected to the rule of law,” Fitton warned.
