Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reportedly got into a heated shouting match within ear shot of Trump last week over a dispute about the IRS, according to Axios.

On Friday, it was reported that Acting IRS Commissioner Gary Shapley was OUT at the agency after an internal struggle with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Gary Shapley, the whistleblower who came forward and exposed the political interference in the Hunter Biden tax fraud investigation, was named interim IRS Commissioner after Melanie Krause resigned.

Krause stepped down amid controversy over a data-sharing agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Shapley is reportedly being replaced after an internal struggle with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

The New York Times reported last week that Bessent approached Trump and told him Shapley was put in his position at the IRS without his knowledge.

According to reports, Shapley was placed at the IRS on Elon Musk’s request without Bessent’s knowledge.

Last Thursday night Laura Loomer tweeted about Scott Bessent’s previous attack on Elon Musk.

Elon Musk responded to Laura Loomer’s X post: “The strong Soros affiliation is concerning.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt referred Axios to a previous statement to the New York Times: “it’s no secret President Trump has put together a team of people who are incredibly passionate about the issues impacting our country.”

“Disagreements are a normal part of any healthy policy process,” her statement said. “And ultimately everyone knows they serve at the pleasure of President Trump,” Leavitt said.

Secretary Bessent’s office did not immediately respond to The Gateway Pundit’s request for comment.
