Once again, a pattern repeats itself: on the eve of important negotiations, Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky goes to the press to make bombastic statements that undermine the whole purpose of the meeting.
This time, the Kiev regime leader repeated his position that he will never recognize Crimea as part of Russia, and also presented a slew of other demands – it sounds like he believes his country is winning the war.
Besides that, in the UK there was nasty a reporting with official sources stating that host Foreign Secretary David Lammy was to ‘make sure Kiev’s negotiators were not led into an ambush’.
With all that lack of respect, it’s not surprising that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio decided not to attend the London talks.
Reuters reported:
“After speaking with his British counterpart, Rubio said he was rescheduling his trip to the United Kingdom to coming months.
‘I look forward to following up after the ongoing discussions in London and rescheduling my trip to the UK in the coming months’, he said in a post on X.”

The talks were downgraded to a ‘technical level’, and Trump’s Envoy General Keith Kellogg will attend the discussions.
“’In this particular instance, while the meetings in London are still occurring, he will not be attending. But that is not a statement regarding the meetings. It’s a statement about logistical issues in his schedule’, [State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce] told reporters at a regular news briefing.
‘General Kellogg is there, and so he will be having those conversations’.”

Per a separate Reuters report:
“Rubio’s no show to the London talks prompted a broader meeting with foreign ministers from Ukraine, Britain, France and Germany to be cancelled, underscoring the gaps in positions between Washington, and Kiev and its European allies over how to bring an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The downgrading of the talks comes at a critical time, days after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Washington could walk away if there was no progress on a deal soon. Trump raised the pressure on Sunday when he said he hoped Moscow and Kiev would make a deal this week to end the three-year conflict.”
The US was to present its peace plan, that Europeans and Ukrainians already complain that demands more concessions from Kiev – apparently oblivious to the unescapable fact that a losing side in a war is bound to get the worse deal in negotiations.
Vice President JD Vance, said during a visit to India: “We’ve issued a very explicit proposal to both the Russians and the Ukrainians, and it’s time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away from this process.”
Ukraine presented a paper for the Globalist-Europeans that states that there will be no discussions on territorial issues until ‘a full and unconditional ceasefire’ – which guarantees that no agreement will ever take place.
Will the US get tired and abandon the peace process in the Ukraine? It’s starting to appear very likely.
