On Monday federal charges were filed against Kristi Noem’s purse thief Mario Bustamante Leiva, an illegal alien from Chile.
On Saturday it was reported that an illegal alien was arrested for robbing Kristi Noem on Easter.
49-year-old Mario Bustamante Leiva was located and arrested in DC, according to DC Metro Police.

The masked illegal snatched Noem’s Gucci bag while she dined at a restaurant with her children and grandchildren in high-crime Washington, DC, on Easter Sunday.
The thief took off with the purse, which included $3,000 in cash, her passport, apartment keys, DHS badge, and other valuables. The bag reportedly contained a $600 Louis Vuitton Clemence Purse.
On Sunday Secret Service spox Anthony Guglielmi said the illegal alien is a “serial offender” who has been in this country for years.
Prosecutors charged Bustamante Leiva with wire fraud and aggravate identify theft. (Read the charging documents here).
The charging documents included surveillance photos of Bustamante Leiva in action.
Bustamante Leiva fled the restaurant from Chinatown to Georgetown and spent hundreds of dollars on Kristi Noem’s credit cards.
On Sunday a co-conspirator was arrested and surprise, surprise – he’s an illegal alien from Chile being held on an ICE detainer.
