On Wednesday, Democrat Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey proudly boasted about cozying up to a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) diplomat.
Healey took to X to boast about rubbing elbows with Chen Li, the consul general of the People’s Republic of China in New York, saying she was “grateful for the opportunity” to spend time with him.
Healey shared pictures of the meeting on X, with a broad smile and pointing to matching bracelets, stating, “Massachusetts is home to a vibrant Chinese-American community, and China is one of our largest trading partners.”

In a press release, Governor Healey said, “Today we welcomed Ambassador H.E. Chen Li to Massachusetts. We discussed our shared economic and cultural ties, and our commitment to continuing to work together for the benefit of our people and our economy.”
“Massachusetts is home to a vibrant community of nearly 200,000 people of Chinese heritage, and they make valued contributions to our communities and our economy.”
Mike Kennealy, a Republican who announced in April that he is challenging Healy for governor, chided the embarrassing move.
“Why is Maura Healey rolling out the red carpet for the Chinese Communist Party? This is embarrassingly naive.”
“The CCP sends fentanyl to the USA to kill our kids. They steal the intellectual property of American inventors. They were paid $1 billion to produce defective and undelivered MBTA cars.”
“When I’m Governor, this ends.”
