After Jake Tapper’s Revelations About Biden’s Decline, Rasmussen Reports Poll shows 57% of Republicans “Can’t Hate the Media Enough”

Significant attention has been drawn to the cognitive abilities of Joe Biden during his term in the Oval Office.  In his not-yet-released book, Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson reportedly claim that Biden staffers had considered putting him in a wheelchair, but that doing so would destroy any chances of a second term.

The wheelchair concern came from the White House physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, who told staff that if he fell one more time, he would have to “serve in a wheelchair,” according to Tapper.

Tapper: WH physician told Biden aides he might have to be in a wheelchair if he fell again:

When CNN’s Kasie Hunt asked Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer ,”Did you really not have any idea that he was not fit to serve a second term?”  Schumer, as expected, completely dodged the question to instead claim he’s focused on “looking forward.”

As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Hunt, clearly annoyed with Schumer’s answer, broke to a panel where Chuck Todd scorned the Senator.

“HE (emphasis added) is among the people responsible for this,” Todd exclaims.  “I find everybody now talking to these authors…get out of here!  Go home!  You’re part of the problem.  Now you tell us??”

This apparent epiphany that Todd seems to have had in real-time on CNN is equally perplexing.  Where have you been, Chuck??  And that is meant as a sort-of double entendre as both Chuck Schumer and Chuck Todd bear responsibility for keeping this from their constituents and viewers, respectively.

There has been no shortage of Biden gaffes that have displayed his cognitive decline.  Whether it was calling on a Congresswoman who had died just a week prior, or invoking two dead world leaders as confidants in discussions Biden claimed he had with them about topics relating to events after they’d long been dead, or perhaps announcing that he was running for U.S. Senate twice on the campaign trail in 2020, or his “phantom handshakes” while up on stage.

The list goes on and on and on.  The Gateway Pundit has reported thoroughly on these mental gaffes, oftentimes called “conspiracy theorists” or “far-right” as a result.

But in reality, it’s called “journalism” and perhaps it’s time the Mockingbird Media outlets get back to it.  Instead, the “authoritative sources” refused to cover these gaffes, or oftentimes chalked them up to “one-offs,” “fake news,” or “isolated incidents.”

Thankfully, the coverage bias doesn’t go unnoticed.  As many of the Mockingbird Media outlets struggle to find viewership and revenue, many are having to lay off hundreds of employees as a result.  But how much does the population “hate” the current media landscape?

In a survey from the beginning of May, Rasmussen Reports polled 1,072 likely U.S. voters, asking if they agree that “no matter how much you hate the media, it’s not enough.”  Shockingly, 44% of voters agree, including 57% of Republicans and 40% of Democrats, but only 36% of independents share the sentiment.

Almost half, 49%, believe the bias is getting worse, marking a decline from the same question Rasmussen Reports asked in July 2024 when 61% agreed.  Just 11% believe the bias is getting better, however.  The belief in media bias is shared more broadly by Blacks (53%) and Hispanics (55%), while only 44% of Whites hold that animosity.

But perhaps most telling: 61% of people who voted for Donald Trump in 2024 express their “hate” of the media compared to only 33% of Harris voters.  Is that surprising when coverage of the 2024 Presidential race was 85% negative for President Trump vs. 78% positive for Kamala Harris?  Or that it’s been 92% negative in President Trump’s first 100 days?

Between the biases and the “hate” for the mainstream media, it begs the question: who’s actually watching?
