Piers Morgan’s show spun out of control on Friday after he asked a feminist the simple question: “What is a woman?”
Piers Morgan Uncensored hosts panels to debate current events, and this episode featured feminist Clementine Ford going up against married conservative power couple Andrew Wilson and Rachel Wilson.
The panel was talking about transgender issues when Morgan addressed Ford.
“OK, I have a question for you, Clementine,” Morgan began. “It’s a very simple question, but I think it’ll be an interesting question to ask you. What is a woman?”
“Piers, I’m not going down the path of debating trans women with you,” Ford replied.
Morgan fired back, “I didn’t mention trans women! I asked you what a woman is!”
“OK, I’ll tell you; but I know that — because this is your tactic. This is what you do. ‘What is a woman?’ I’ll tell you what a woman is,” Ford said.
“It shouldn’t be controversial!” Morgan interjected.
“I’ll tell you what a woman is,” Ford continued. “A woman is someone who has, at least at one point in her life, felt scared of a man.”
Morgan, confused, asked, “Sorry?”
“But you guys never wanna talk about that!” the feminist said.
At this point, Andrew Wilson joined the conversation — also expressing his confusion.
“So, wait, wait. Hang on, hang on. So any man who’s ever felt afraid of another man is a woman? What are you talking about?” Wilson asked.
“No, no, no, no, no, that’s not what I’m saying. That’s not–” Ford said.
Wilson continued, “You know, this is exactly why — you’re wearing that shirt that says, ‘repeal.’ You should put ‘the 19th’ under it. It’s unbelievable! What are you talking about? ‘A woman is anybody who has ever, at one point, been afraid of a man.’ It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard! Do you have an actual argument here?”
Ford asked to be allowed to finish speaking.
“Yeah, how long is it gonna take for you to finish? How long’s it gonna take for you to finish?” Wilson asked.
“Piers, do you really just invite people on your show to be interrupted like this?” Ford asked the host.
“Well, Clementine, look, with all due respect, we did do a bit of research into what you said about me in the past; so I think I’m entitled to give you–” Morgan started to say.
Ford cut him off, “So you already know what I think about that question because I’ve written about you asking that question!”
“Yes, you have. In fact, you said–” Morgan began again.
“So why would you ask it again when you know what my answer to that is?” Ford once again interrupted.
Morgan replied, “To enlighten the audience you have no idea what you’re talking about.”
