Elon Musk has said he is “disappointed’ with President Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”

In a preview of an interview with CBS that will air this Sunday, Musk pointed out the bill increases the national debt and undermines the work done by his Department of Government Efficiency, which is working to decrease the national debt.

Here is a transcript of the exchange:

MUSK: So, you know, I was like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not decrease it and undermines the work the DOGE team is doing.

POGUE: I actually thought that when this big beautiful bill came along, I mean, like, everything he’s done on DOGE gets wiped out in the first year.”

MUSK:I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful. But I don’t know if it can be both. My personal opinion.

Watch the clip below:

The bill, which is expected to cost $1.4 trillion, will extend 2017 tax cuts, eliminate federal taxes on tips, overtime pay, and interest from loans on U.S.-made cars.

Among its other provisions include $1,000 tax-free “MAGA Savings Account” for every newborn, raising the child tax credit to $2,500 until 2028 and the addition of work requirements Medicaid starting in 2026.

The House recently passed the bill by a narrow vote of 215–214.

However, it is not expected to pass the Senate without several revisions.

Senator Rick Scott of Florida, who is typically loyal to Trump and the MAGA agenda, has already said he would vote no as the bill stands.

“Oh absolutely I’d vote no,” he said in an interview with Charlie Kirk. “If they brought it to the floor right now there’s not a chance it would get to 51 votes.”

“ We all know we have to balance the budget. We all know it’s getting harder to sell our treasuries.”

BREAKING: Just moments ago, Sen. Rick Scott said he’s a NO on the One Big Beautiful Bill in its current form. He’s demanding more spending cuts and setting America on the path to a balanced budget.
