The Democrat mayor of a small Pennsylvania borough of roughly 14,000 residents has sparked national outcry after making a dangerous move to shield criminal illegal aliens from deportation.
As WTAE reported, Wilkinsburg Mayor Dontae Comans posted an URGENT COMMUNITY ALERT last week after hearing about residents seeing ICE agents pulling people in the community.
“Let me be absolutely clear,” he wrote, “Wilkinsburg does not cooperate with ICE. Our borough has a standing ordinance that protects ALL residents from discrimination—no matter your immigration status, nationality, race, religion, gender, or background.”
He then asked residents to contact him immediately if they witnessed any ICE activity while offering legal advice.
If you witness any ICE activity or are concerned for your safety, please call me immediately at 412-244-2920.
Know Your Rights when encountering ICE:
— You do not have to speak with ICE without a lawyer present
— You do not have to answer their questions
— You do not have to identify yourself
— You do not have to consent to a search
— You can ask to see a signed warrant — you do NOT have to open your door unless they show on

Comans then offered an insane and insulting justification for his law-breaking action during an interview with KDKA.
“Everyone here is family here, we’re Wilkinsburg,” Comans said. “And we just want to protect each other, no matter what part of life you’re from.”
When asked what he would say to people who say illegals shouldn’t be here, Comans continued to insult every law-abiding citizen’s intelligence.
“That’s how this country started,” he added. “It’s all about getting that path to being a resident, and I feel like we need to help them.”
