Overstay and Commit Jihad, Joe Biden’s Open Borders and Terrorism

A Boulder man attacked Jews including children at a Boulder event.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman had overstayed his visa when he launched an attack on participants holding a vigil for hostages held by Hamas, shouting phrases such as “Free Palestine” and “End Zionists.”

During interviews with law enforcement, he expressed a desire to “kill all Zionist people” and stated he would commit the act again.

Clearly, allowing illegal aliens into the country who want to kill us is a terrible idea. We need to deport illegal aliens, terrorists, and their sympathizers.

“Acts of terrorism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This is yet another example of why we must keep our borders SECURE, and deport illegal, anti-American radicals from our homeland. My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy, and the great people of Boulder, Colorado!” — President Donald J. Trump

President Trump issued this statement in the wake of a brutal terrorist attack that shook the city of Boulder, Colorado on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national who had overstayed his B-2 tourist visa since February 2023, launched a firebomb assault during a peaceful pro-Israel march at the Pearl Street Mall.

The event, organized by the group Run for Their Lives, was intended to raise awareness about Israeli hostages still held by Hamas.

Soliman reportedly used a makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails, targeting elderly demonstrators and injuring 13 individuals between the ages of 52 and 88, including an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor.

At least one victim remains in critical condition. The FBI has classified the incident as a targeted act of terrorism motivated by antisemitism. Soliman now faces multiple charges, including attempted mass murder and a federal hate crime.

According to court documents, Soliman confessed to planning the attack for over a year. He admitted he had sought to target “Zionist people” and expressed no remorse, stating he would commit the act again.

After being denied a firearm purchase due to his immigration status, Soliman reportedly used YouTube to learn how to construct homemade incendiary weapons.

He now faces 16 counts of attempted first-degree murder (eight with intent and deliberation, eight with extreme indifference), two counts of using an incendiary device, 16 counts of attempted use of an incendiary device, and a federal hate crime charge.

He is being held on a $10 million cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday for formal arraignment.

In response to the attack, Secretary of Homeland Security Marco Rubio posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“In light of yesterday’s horrific attack, all terrorists, their family members, and terrorist sympathizers here on a visa should know that under the Trump Administration we will find you, revoke your visa, and deport you.”

The FBI has classified the Boulder attack as a “targeted act of violence” and is investigating it as an act of terrorism. Under FBI guidelines, terrorism falls into two main categories.

Domestic terrorism is defined as “violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.”

International terrorism, by contrast, involves acts “committed by individuals and/or groups who are inspired by, or associated with, designated foreign terrorist organizations or nations (state-sponsored).”

These definitions are central to understanding how the June 1, 2025, firebomb attack in Boulder is being classified.

Although Mohamed Sabry Soliman is a foreign national, there is no evidence that he was acting on behalf of, or in coordination with, a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Instead, the deliberate targeting of Jewish demonstrators, motivated by ideological and religious hatred, makes this a textbook case of domestic terrorism under the FBI’s definition.

The FBI has noted that today’s terrorism threat increasingly comes from lone offenders who radicalize online and act independently, often without ties to formal organizations.

These individuals can rapidly mobilize to violence, driven by extremist beliefs and ideologies. Social media and online propaganda make this radicalization process faster and more dangerous, giving bad actors unprecedented reach and influence.

The incident has sparked outrage and renewed scrutiny of immigration enforcement and border security. President Donald Trump condemned the attack, calling it “horrific” and declaring it “WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America.”

He linked the incident to dangerous lapses in border policy and emphasized the need to deport “Illegal, Anti-American Radicals” and secure the nation’s borders. Trump also pointed to the attack as proof of the urgent need for stricter visa tracking and deportation protocols.

Secretary Marco Rubio echoed this stance, highlighting the administration’s sharpened focus on national security, particularly where ideological violence intersects with unlawful immigration.

Former Trump advisor Stephen Miller, writing in the New York Post, called President Biden’s immigration policies “suicidal.”

Meanwhile, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark E. Green condemned the “heinous, antisemitic terrorist attack” and warned of a growing domestic terror threat, urging heightened vigilance against political violence and antisemitism.
