Supreme Court Allows Pennsylvania to Count Provisional Ballots by Voters Who Make Mistakes on Their Mail-In Ballots

President Trump holds rally in Butler, Pennsylvania – October 5, 2024

The controversial US Supreme Court declined on Friday to hear a Republican challenge to a Pennsylvania state court decision that requires officials count provisional ballots cast by voters who made mistakes on their mail-in ballots.

This move by the Supreme Court appears to make voting less secure in the Keystone State.

Reuters reported:

The dispute returned to the Supreme Court after the justices, on the eve of the November 2024 presidential election, rejected the emergency bid by the Republicans to block tallying the provisional ballots.

The Republicans objected to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s October ruling in favor of two Butler County voters who sought to have their provisional ballots counted after their mail-in ballots were rejected during that state’s 2024 presidential primary election for lacking secrecy envelopes.

Election rules in states like Pennsylvania that often play a pivotal role in determining the outcome of U.S. presidential elections are a particularly sensitive issue.

The Republican National Committee and the Republican Party of Pennsylvania asked the high court in January to hear their appeal of a Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision on provisional ballots issued days before last year’s presidential election. The Pennsylvania justices ruled 4-3 to count a voter’s provisional ballots if their mail-in ballot had been rejected.

According to the far-left Democracy Docket, “Pennsylvania is among a few states that require individuals who vote by mail to place their ballots in an inner secrecy envelope before then putting them in an outer envelope. In 2020, the issue of naked ballots prompted litigation that culminated in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court holding that naked ballots are “invalid” and concluding that counties do not have to offer curing opportunities for defective mail-in ballots.” That changed in 2024 before the presidential election.

President Trump won Pennsylvania handily in 2024 over Kamala Harris, a jovial woman who struggled to put sentences together. The final count was too big to rig for the radical left to steal.

The Gateway Pundit urges Pennsylvania Republicans to focus on the thousands of illegal voter registrations that were turned in by shady leftist voter registration groups from out-of state prior to the 2024 election.  Preventing these phony registrations from turning into phony votes could make a huge difference in the state-wide races.
