NEW: President Trump Approved Attack Plans For Iran but Withheld Order to See if Tehran will Abandon Nuclear Program: WSJ

President Trump on Tuesday night told aides that he approved attack plans for Iran but was holding off his final order to see if Tehran would agree to abandon its nuclear weapons program, according to The Wall Street Journal.

On Tuesday, Trump revealed the US now has control over Iran’s skies and seemingly called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender.”

President Trump left the G7 Summit in Canada early and returned to DC on Monday evening after telling everyone to evacuate Tehran.

The White House said President Trump left the G7 Summit after he had dinner with Heads of State.

On Tuesday President Trump prepared to meet with his National Security Council in the Situation Room to discuss whether to strike Iran or not.

Axios reported that Trump was seriously considering a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

US officials told Axios that the US is focusing on Fordow Plant, a nuclear facility under a mountain and it would take a US-made bunker busting weapon to destroy the plant.

On Tuesday afternoon Trump said he knows where Iran’s Supreme Leader is hiding.

“We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump said.

The Wall Street Journal, citing three people familiar, said on Tuesday night President Trump approved attack plans on Iran but withheld the final order.

On Wednesday, in remarks to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said he doesn’t want a fight with Iran but if they have a nuclear weapon, “you have to do what you have to do.”
