Harvard Graduate Student Union Wants Paid Leave As Well as Funding For Foreigners

According to Campus Reform, Harvard’s graduate student union wants the school to fund legal support for “student immigrants” and go so far as to restrict ICE agents from entering campus buildings.

“On June 5, the Harvard Graduate Students Union–United Auto Workers (HGSU-UAW) petitioned the university to provide full legal representation for international workers facing visa issues, deportation, or “immigration emergencies.”

This objectively absurd move does not come as a surprise to those following the Woke and anti-American behavior coming out of Harvard these days.

This wasn’t their only ‘request’. In addition, the student union requested that the university block ICE agents from going to nonpublic areas without a warrant signed by a federal judge. In other words, they want their campus to be an illegal sanctuary like a sanctuary city, except on campus instead.

These student union demands were submitted right before a judge blocked a Trump administration order barring international students from “studying in the United States while attending online-only classes.

HGSU leaders claim the policy disproportionately harms international student workers. This insane proposal “requested” Harvard expand its non citizen fund from 30,000 to $225,000 annually.

Additionally, this crazy, un-American proposal calls for up to 150 days of paid administrative leave for immigrants detained by ICE.

“Denish Jhawar estimated that approximately 2,000 of Harvard’s 5,500-member bargaining unit are non-citizens.” Denish is the head of this union.

Denish went as far as to declare, “Harvard has an obligation—if it’s going to bring noncitizen, international workers into their workforce, if it’s going to benefit from their work and all of their productive contributions—that they protect those workers.”

Sadly, apparently this union is not advocating for American citizens alone but for illegals as well. This union, apparently like much of university life, prioritizes illegals over Americans.

Harvard prioritizes non-citizens over Americans. President Trump has stood up to Harvard unlike previous administrations. They have shown disrespect towards America and a preference for illegals.

It’s time for universities to be defunded if they continue to disrespect the American public and put foreign students first.
