President Trump on Thursday announced that US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer has signed a trade deal with China, demonstrating once again that tariffs work!
The President spoke during a One Big Beautiful Bill event at the White House on Thursday, where he was joined by Administration officials, Members of Congress, conservative leaders, and everyday Americans who stand to benefit from the landmark One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
The event was intended to “rally Republicans to get the One Big Beautiful Bill across the finish line,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said earlier on Thursday.
While speaking about his success in bringing the United States back to life during the first five months of his second term, the President made the announcement that “we just signed with China yesterday.”
As The Gateway Pundit reported, earlier this month, President Trump officialized the US-UK trade agreement with an executive order, after he and UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer announced the deal last month.

The new agreement comes after President Trump had a tariff war with China, slapping steep tariffs of 145% at one point on chinese goods. Details of the new agreement are still unclear.

They said, I thought you were dead, the country was dead, and was pretty close to it, but we have the hottest country in the world, so it’s great. And Trade Representative Jamieson Greer is very busy, because— where are you, Jamieson? Everybody, everybody wants to make a deal and have a part of it, right?
I know you and Howard and Scott are working overtime, making deals with other countries. You remember a few months ago, the press was saying, “do you really have anybody of any interest?” Well, we just signed with China yesterday, right? Just signed with China. We have everybody. We’re not going to make deals with everybody. Some, we’re just going to send them a letter say, thank you very much. You’re going to pay 25, 35, 45%. That’s the easy way to do it, and my people don’t want to do it that way. They want to do some of it, but they want to make more deals than I would do.
But we’re having some great deals. We have one coming up, maybe, with India, a very big one, where we’re going to open up India. In the China deal, we’re starting to open up China, things that never really could have happened. And the relationship with every country has been very good.
