(VIDEO) President Trump on Putting Crocodiles in Texas’s Rio Grande to Stop Illegal Border Crossers: “A lot of People Think we Should Do it, Frankly”

President Trump signaled on Tuesday that he may be open to putting crocodiles in the Rio Grande River in Texas, saying “a lot of people like” the idea.

While he described the original proposal as a “joke,” he said, “the more I thought of it, the more I liked it.”

The President spoke to reporters upon landing in Ochopee, Florida, to tour the new alien detention facility at Florida’s Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport, informally known as “Alligator Alcatraz.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump told reporters that the facility, fortified by Florida’s natural defenses, such as alligators, pythons, and dense swampland in the Florida Everglades, will be perfect for preventing aliens from escaping the prison.

“Don’t run in a straight line. Run like this,” he said, waving his hands in a zig-zag motion. “Your chances go up about 1%, okay? Not a good thing.”

President Trump previously denied reports that he wanted a “moat” with alligators surrounding the United States.

But on Tuesday, the President clarified that he, in fact, wanted to put crocodiles, not alligators, in the Rio Grande River.

“They were actually crocodiles. They were crocodiles from Africa. They are a step beyond,” he said.

A reporter asked if the new Alligator Alcatraz facility is a “dream come true” for the President, citing reports that he wanted to place alligators in the Rio Grande, and the President clarified what he really wanted back in his first term.

” I must say it was meant more as a joke, but the more I thought of it, the more I liked it, if you want to know the truth,” he said.

“A lot of people think we should do it, frankly.”

Reporter: In 2018 you suggested putting alligators in the Rio Grande to prevent crossings in Texas. Is this a dream come true for you, Sir?

Trump: Well, I was thinking about that. I must say it was meant more as a joke, but the more I thought of it, the more I liked it if you want to know the truth. And they were seriously— they were actually crocodiles. They were crocodiles from Africa. They are a step beyond. But, no, that was really meant as a joke, but a lot of people liked it, and a lot of people think we should do it, frankly.
