Obama-Award Winning Criminal Illegal Alien Detained by ICE Following ‘Routine Court Appearance’

One of Barack Obama’s prized illegal aliens will likely be sent back to his place of birth after getting caught breaking the law again.

As Newsweek reported on Monday, 27-year-old Darwin Contreras, a man residing in Pennsylvania, was arrested on June 24 following a so-called routine court appearance. Contreras had been attending a proceeding related to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program.

Contrera’s wife, Elizabeth DeJesus, claimed to Newsweek that the ICE agents were wearing “something you can get from Walmart” and refused to tell her where they were taking her husband.

She later learned he had been transported to Pike County Correctional Facility in Lords Valley.

Contreras was reportedly in the process of applying for his citizenship when he was detained.

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), explained to Newsweek that the reason ICE agents detained Contreras was because he was caught driving under the influence (DUI).

She also revealed he has multiple other convictions that should have resulted in his deportation long ago.

“His criminal history includes convictions for theft and possession of marijuana. This criminal illegal alien admitted to law enforcement that he is in the country illegally,” McLaughlin explained to the outlet.

DeJesus, though, sought to garner sympathy by asserting that Contreras is now fading both mentally and physically.

“At first, when he got there, he was not adjusting well, he was not OK, his mental health was not good,” she said.

Contreras arrived in America illegally 20 years ago when he was 7. He grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he attended school.

He thrived academically and athletically as a track and field athlete. In middle school, he earned a Presidential Fitness Award from Obama in 2012, which Newsweek obtained a copy of.

Contreras skipped college and began working full-time after graduating from high school. He became a father and later met DeJesus, whom he married in March.
