Scapegoat or mastermind?
Yesterday, we reported that a Ukrainian was arrested on suspicion of having coordinated the explosions on the Nord Stream pipelines back in September 2022.
While many still believe that Seymour Hersh’s reporting that it was actually the US who carried the attacks is the real version of facts, the saga of the detained man continues.
And it turns out that he is not just an ordinary citizen.
The man has reportedly had extensive experience both in Ukraine’s Secret Service and in the Army’s special forces.
Sky News reported:
“It is not known whether he was still serving at the time of the pipeline attack in 2022 and Ukraine’s government has always denied any involvement in the explosions.
According to sources close to the case, the suspect has been found in a three-star bungalow hotel named La Pescaccia in San Clemente, in the province of Rimini.”

Serhii was with his family, and when the Carabinieri raided his bedroom, he didn’t try to resist the arrest.
“He was travelling with his passport, and he used his real identity to check into the hotel, triggering an emergency alert on a police server, we have been told.”
He was transferred to a prison in Bologna today, and reportedly doesn’t consent to being extradited to Germany.
“The next hearing is scheduled for 3 September, when the Bologna appeal court is set to decide whether Serhii will be extradited to Germany or not. He will remain in jail until then.”
In Germany, he is expected to face charges of ‘collusion to cause an explosion’, ‘anti-constitutional sabotage’ and ‘destruction of structures’.
