President Trump will deliver remarks this morning to the White House Religious Liberty Commission at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, where he will announce a new prayer initiative in honor of the country’s 250th anniversary next July.
The President previously signed the ‘Establishment of the Religious Liberty Commission’ executive order to “enforce the historic and robust protections for religious liberty enshrined in Federal law.”
This order created a 14-member commission to “advise the White House Faith Office and the Domestic Policy Council on religious liberty policies of the United States.”
The initiative Trump will announce today is meant to revive the founding principle that “we are one nation under God,” ahead of our semiquincentennial celebration, White House Spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said.
This morning, Housing and Urban Development Secretary and pastor Scott Turner explained that President Trump is restoring prayer as a model “at the highest level of government” to bring renewed “hope and encouragement” to the American people.

President Donald Trump will announce the launch of America Prays at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. today while tying the faith-driven initiative to the nation’s 250th birthday.
The inspiring program calls on Americans to dedicate time every week to pray for the country and to underscore faith as central to the nation’s founding and future.
“President Trump has revived one of America’s most prominent and powerful founding principles — we are one nation under God,” White House Spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told Fox News Digital. “As we approach the 250th anniversary of the greatest country in the world, President Trump invites Americans to pray for our nation and for our people. America is stronger with the power of prayer.”
The initiative also suggests people join with at least 10 others each week to pray.
The President is scheduled to begin his remarks at 10:10 am ET.
