The Democrats are in full meltdown mode again.
Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) confronted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) in the halls of Congress on Tuesday, all because President Donald Trump delivered a powerful and unapologetic address to America’s top military brass at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.
“We got away from it for a long time,” the president said. But now merit is back — within the federal government and within the War Department,” Trump told the generals.
He continued, “We’re going to be greater than we ever were before. We’re bringing back a focus on fitness, ability, character and strength — and that’s because the purpose of [the] American military is not to protect anyone’s feelings — it’s to protect our republic. And it’s the republic that we dearly love. It’s to protect our country. We will not be politically correct when it comes to defending American freedom, and we will be a fighting and winning machine.”
“Under my budget, we will be expanding the U.S. Navy by at least 19 ships next year, including submarines, destroyers, assault ships and more,” Trump said.
“History has shown that military supremacy has never been simply a matter of money or manpower. At the end of the day, it is the culture, the spirit of our military that truly sets us apart from any other nation,” he said.
“Our ultimate strength will always come from the fierce people, those brilliant people with such pride and the unbending will and the traditions of excellence that have made us the most unstoppable force ever to walk the face of the earth, and that’s what we are.”
President Trump also spoke candidly about how global elites and their media allies award meaningless accolades to weaklings who “didn’t do a damn thing,” while true leaders who achieve peace and strength for America are mocked.
“They’ll give it to some guy that didn’t do a damn thing. They’ll give it to a guy that wrote a book about the mind of Donald Trump and what it took to solve the wars, and the Nobel Prize will go to a writer.”
That was enough to send Dean into hysterics. Moments later at the Capitol, she cornered Speaker Johnson and launched into an unhinged tirade, accusing Trump of being “unwell” and “dangerous.”
The exchange was captured in the halls of Congress (transcript via Mediate):
DEAN: The president is unhinged. He is unwell. What are you—
JOHNSON: A lot of folks on your side are too. I don’t control—
DEAN: Oh my God, please! That performance in front of the generals?
JOHNSON: I didn’t see it.
DEAN: That is so dangerous. You know I serve on Foreign Affairs and Appropriations. This is a collision of those two things. Our allies are looking elsewhere. Our enemies are laughing.
JOHNSON: I just left the—
DEAN (interrupting): You have a president who is unwell.
