During much of the war, there was one front where Ukraine seemed to be always winning: on the MSM’s headlines.
The PR battle had always been a focus of the Kiev regime, but as the Russian victories multiplied and accelerated, most of the media had to recalibrate their reporting in a rush.
But there is one surprising Ukrainian resource that has been consistently right in their postings: the military mapping team of the ‘DeepState’ Telegram channel.
But it turns out they committed an unforgivable crime nowadays in Ukraine: they were too accurate – at a time when the progressive collapse at the front can’t be exposed.
So now reports arise that they have stopped their work and the team have been allegedly ‘mobilized’.
RT reported:
“Ukraine’s top military commander General Aleksandr Syrsky has reportedly sought to silence an open-source intelligence (OSINT) project tracking battlefield developments in the ongoing conflict with Russia, a Ukrainian MP has claimed.
Mariana Bezuglaya, the deputy head of the National Security, Defense and Intelligence Committee, made the allegations on Monday via Telegram.”
Bezuglaya wrote:
“ Attention! Syrskyi, instead of stabilizing the defense, has launched an offensive against the DeepState team — the last bastion of more or less adequate information about the front line.
The plan includes:
• Mobilization of the DeepState team (Send them to the infantry, no people — no problem).
• Appeal to the SBU and law enforcement regarding the disclosure of information (No room for OSINT here).
• All kinds of discrediting of the project (The General Staff has its own truth and a “controlled” situation).
• Shutting down the project (Why do we need these maps? Fake reports are enough). We have all known DeepState since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Every day, it remains one of the few sources to understand what is happening, both for civilians and even for the military. The attack of the “old-timers” on the project is yet another dimension of their complete backwardness and evidence that we have truly become hostages of Soviet-style @#&%.
I urge everyone who cares to support Ukraine’s OSINT community so that the generals choke on their own actions.
Volodymyr Oleksandrovych [Zelensky], so where are we heading?”
‘DeepState,’ issued an interactive map documenting frontline changes, and updates based on publicly available data. It was a resource for military personnel and civilians alike, but was showing the rapid advances of Russian forces in Donbass.
“According to Bezuglaya, the Ukrainian General Staff views Deep State as a rival to its own official reports, which she criticized as unreliable. She alleged that officials are considering measures ranging from forcibly shutting down the platform to more extreme actions, such as sending its team to the frontlines as infantry or involving the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to dismantle the project.”
The channel has since posted a confirmation of the news:
“Always worked and made maximum efforts to win and help our fighters and our country.
That’s why we have an iron reputation and that most valuable trust among society, and most importantly, among the military. That’s why we have the most famous map of the Russian-Ukrainian war in Ukraine and the world.
But, unfortunately, not all commanders-in-chief like the truth, and that’s a shame.
We thank everyone endlessly for their support. A huge number of people write and call us. This support is extremely great and it gives us strength and inspiration! You are all incredible! We are working for victory and we will not give up!
Lies will destroy us all!”
