Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is taking no prisoners when it comes to both cleaning up the Pentagon and smacking down Deep State-loving ‘journalists.’
As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Donald Trump revealed during a press conference on Friday with Japan’s prime minister that he had directed Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to conduct a comprehensive audit of the Pentagon’s funding. As TGP readers know, the Pentagon has failed audits for several years.
“Yes, I have [directed Musk to review] Pentagon, Education, just about everything,” Trump said.
Later that day, Hegseth committed to getting the Pentagon to pass a clean audit within four years.
“The American taxpayers deserve that,” he continued. “They deserve to know where their $850 billion dollars go, how it’s spent, and make sure it’s spent wisely.”
However, long-time Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin was seemingly peeved that Hegseth would dare clean up the Pentagon and perhaps expose some of her longtime sources.
Griffin is a long-time Trump hater and such a reliable ally of the DC Swamp that it’s puzzling why she is not at an outlet more suited to her ideology like CNN or MSNBC.
On Friday afternoon, she decided to amplify a Democrat cheap shot on Hegseth to discredit his and the rest of the Trump Administration’s efforts to save billions of taxpayer dollars via DOGE. House Democrats recently sent a letter alleging Hegseth improperly utilized tax dollars to spruce up his residence.
“Dems on House Appropriations Committee ask why Sec Hegseth needs $137,297 for home repairs/paint for government residence, in light of DOGE efforts to save tax-payer money?” she wrote on X while sharing the letter.
Hegseth caught on to Griffin smearing him as a corrupt and conceited government official. He pushed back, pointing out that the repairs were going to happen whether he was confirmed or not.
Hegseth then called her and the Democrats out for what they really are: Trump-hating liars.
“Fake News of the Day (not surprising from Democrats & @JenGriffinFNC; same thing),” Hegseth wrote. “Any/all house repairs were going to happen no matter who was moving in—and were all initiated by DoD.”
“But Dems/Jen don’t care about facts; they’re just Trump haters,” he added.

America is in for an interesting and fun next four years thanks not only to Trump but incredibly skilled allies like Secretary Pete Hegseth.
