The man charged with killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is finally breaking his silence.

The 26-year-old is facing charges in New York with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and multiple gun possession charges related to Thompson’s murder last December.

He also faces federal charges as well as additional charges in Pennsylvania, where he was first arrested.

In a statement posted on a newly launched website, Mangioni expressed gratitude for all the support he has received.

“I am overwhelmed by – and grateful for – everyone who has written me to share their stories and express their support,” Mangione wrote.

“Powerfully, this support has transcended political, racial, and even class divisions, as mail has flooded MDC from across the country, and around the globe.”

“While it is impossible for me to reply to most letters, please know that I read every one that I receive.”

The website, which was set up by his legal defense team, will provide updates about Mangioni’s case.

“Due to the extraordinary volume of inquiries and outpouring of support, this site was created and is maintained by Luigi Mangione’s New York legal defense team to provide answers to frequently asked questions, accurate information about his cases, and dispel misinformation.”

”The intent is to share factual information regarding the unprecedented, multiple prosecutions against him.”

According to a report from The New York Post, Mangione has been flooded with everything from love letters to prison spending money from adoring groupies.

He is also said to have raised $300,000 from over 10,000 people to help fund his legal defense.

Thompson’s murder led to widespread debate about vigilanitism, with many people expressing sympathy for Mangioni and arguing his actions were justified on account of the greed of the healthcare industry.

A shock poll carried out after the attack found over 40 percent of young people believe the murder was justified, while 41 percent felt it was not.

Mangioni has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.

If convicted on all charges, he may be eligible for the death penalty.
