On Friday, Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis responded to a reporter’s question about whether she’s considering a run for governor.

During a press conference at the Florida International University Academic Health Center, Casey DeSantis was asked by a reporter if she’s exploring a run for governor and, if so, what are her qualifications to do so.

In response, Casey stated, “I would say one thing, to quote the late, great, Yogi Berra, when you come to a fork in the road, take it.”

Governor DeSantis then took the podium and added, “You guys can read into that.”

He added, “She’s more conservative than I. What she’s done on this has been really inspirational just how she handled the cancer has been inspirational.”

Per Florida Politics:

Gov. Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis were more interested in talking about a quotable 20th-century baseball player than the 2026 race for Governor during a recent media availability.

“To quote the late Yogi Berra,” the First Lady said when asked if she was running, “if you see a fork in the road, take it.”

The Governor amplified the memorably quotable former New York Yankee in his own quippy comments at Florida International University.

“I think she’s leaving that to the imagination and to start talking about good old Yogi Berra, because you know he had a lot of very perceptive comments,” the Governor said.

Earlier in the week, Governor DeSantis threw shade at President Trump’s endorsement of Rep. Byron Donalds as the next governor of Florida.

DeSantis stated, “You got a guy like Byron, he just hasn’t been a part of any of the victories that we’ve had here over the left these last years.”
