Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s Face the Nation interview with Margaret Brennan turned out to be quite eventful and a particularly sour one for the far-left CBS host.

Noem was invited on to discuss the United States’ ongoing trade war with Canada and Mexico, border crossings, and those leaking information on raids within the department. Brennan sensed a golden opportunity to embarrass Noem on the latter.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Noem revealed her investigators had identified two leakers within the DHS and would be referring them to the Department of Justice for felony prosecutions. They could face up to ten years in prison.

Brennan brought up an old tweet of Noem’s to accuse her of falsely blaming for the leaks when they actually came from the DHS. Of course, she refused to provide evidence that Noem’s tweet was specifically referring to the raids in question.

“Let me ask you, you said that you have found leakers within DHS and that you are going to prosecute them,” Brennan began. “Back on February 9, you tweeted ‘The FBI is so corrupt. We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks.”

“Were you wrong to blame the FBI if the leaks were within DHS?” she demanded.

Sensing Brennan’s trap, Noem quickly flipped the tables and schooled her.

“No. There are leakers throughout those (agencies),” she replies. “These two were leaking our enforcement operation that we were going to plan and conduct in several cities and expose law enforcement and put their (law enforcement) lives in danger.”

“So, they will be prosecuted, and they could face up to ten years in federal prison because they did that.”

Noem also confirmed that she would continue polygraphing employees and reminded Brennan that she had broad constitutional authority within the department.
