President Trump received a raucous standing ovation when he entered the Philadelphia arena for the 2025 NCAA National Wrestling Championships.
Trump received a rockstar welcome as he entered the arena, with attendees chanting, “USA! USA! USA!”
The 45th and 47th president watched the entire championship round with Elon Musk and Senator Markwayne Mullin.
Several wrestlers took photos with Trump following their national titles.
Cater Staocci, a five-time NCAA champion, shared his moment with President Trump after he was awarded his trophy.
Carter went on with FOX and Friends on Monday morning to tell about his weekend and meeting the President of the United States.
Carter Starocci: I just told him, I was like, Hey, I hope you enjoyed the show. He was like, I did. You’re one of my favorite wrestlers to watch the world. I love your tenacity. I love your interviews. And then I told him I appreciated his persona as well. And then I told him the story, too. I was like, Hey, when I was warming up, they made it a little hard for me because you’re the big dog, and he laughed, and then he gave me a nice coin to recognize me.
Brian Kilmeade: Five-time champ. It’ll probably never happen again with the pandemic aberration. So what’s next for you, Carter?
Carter Starocci: Right now, just enjoying this moment. One thing our coach always tells us is to never inhale on things like this. Obviously, we’re on Fox News and talking about it, but this is just another stepping stone for me in the program. And so for me, just never inhale on these things and just keep looking forward to the next thing. So right now, just enjoying this moment with my family and friends, and I have a meeting with the coaches. But for me, I plan on winning the Olympics in 2028, and in our home country.
