President Trump is seriously considering Judge Jeanine Pirro to fill in as interim US Attorney for DC after he pulled Ed Martin’s nomination.
According to ABC News, Trump could make the announcement as early as Thursday afternoon or evening.

President Donald Trump is strongly considering installing Fox News host and former prosecutor Jeanine Pirro as interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.
The potential selection comes as Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Thursday that Ed Martin, who is currently serving as D.C.’s interim top prosecutor, would not be taking the position permanently after losing support among top Republicans in the Senate.
An announcement about a new interim U.S. attorney could come as soon as Thursday, sources said. Sources caution that plans could always change and a decision is never final until publicly announced by the president.
Earlier Thursday President Trump said he will pull Ed Martin’s nomination for DC US Attorney and announce his replacement in a few days.
Time was running out as the May 20 deadline to confirm Ed Martin approached.
If Ed Martin wasn’t confirmed, Judge Boasberg would have picked the next US Attorney for DC.
“I was disappointed,” Trump said of the lack of support for Ed Martin after Senator Tillis opposed his confirmation.
“He’s a terrific person,” Trump said of Ed Martin. “He wasn’t getting the support from people that I thought. He’s done a very good job. Crime is down 25% in DC.”
“We have somebody else that will be great. I just want to say, Ed is unbelievable. Hopefully we can bring him into, whether it’s DOJ or whatever in some capacity,” Trump said.
