A CNN hack’s planned ambush of a conservative female attorney during a discussion over a California boy competing as a girl backfired spectacularly when she made a critical error during the heated discussion.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, 16-year-old Reese Hogan, a star track athlete from Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, was competing in Division 3 of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Finals. During the event, she set a personal record and shattered her school’s record in the triple jump at 37 feet, 2 inches during the May 17 meet.

In an honest competition, this would have been enough to place first. Unfortunately, Hogan’s lost to a boy named AB Hernandez from Jurupa Valley High School by a whopping four feet. Hernandez is now expected to compete in the California championships.

On Friday, CNN anchor Brianna Keilar invited Julie Hamill, the President of the California Justice Center, to discuss Hernandez competing as a girl. The CNN hack demanded to know what options Hernandez would have if he were rightfully barred from future female competitions.

Unsurprisingly, the politically correct Keilar made an inexcusable error: she misgendered Hernandez. This was not lost on Hamill.

“For her to compete with those who are competing against her. What, what would that kind of structure in competition look like?” Keilar asked.

“Who is her?” Hamill asked.

“AB, AB,” Keilar replied.

“Okay. AB Hernandez is a male who identifies as a female,” Hamill replied. “What would be fair is to have Hernandez competing in the male category.”

“It is not fair to the females competing to compete with a male.”

Humiliated, Keilar changed the subject to President Trump’s executive order in February, which was supposed to ensure that biological men could not compete in women’s sports. But California and other blue states have decided to defy Trump’s order and continue to allow men to compete against women.

“In Trump’s federal funding threat, is that something that would hurt all student athletes, including those who are assigned female at birth?” Keilar asked.

Hamill then corrected Keilar again.

“The law actually says that schools that do not abide by Title IX or other federal laws cannot receive federal funds. So that’s not Trump’s fault,” Hamill said. “The problem is with the states.”

Keilar then tried to educate Hamill on Title IX, telling her there are two different views on the law.

“In that regard, if you were to take away the funding as it pertains to trans athletes… Isn’t that going to hurt all of them (every athlete)?” she inquired.

“Taking away federal funds is going to hurt all California kids, which is why the state of California needs to comply with federal law,” Hamill answered. “It’s very simple.”

Keilar then tried to get Hamill to agree that there needs to be more research on trans athletes in order to draw “better conclusions” about whether gender affirming care actually eliminates the advantage conferred on an athlete who is genetically male.

Hamill agreed but also added a tidbit that could not have made Keilar happy.

“I absolutely think that more research and more careful and thoughtful discussion is necessary here,” Hamill said. “Pediatric sex change procedures are very harmful and cause lifelong damage to children.”

“And this is something that the United States of America needs to examine thoughtfully, and people need to be able to discuss openly without being called bigots and transphobes,” she continued.

“So, if you are looking at an athlete like AB Hernandez, what would you have her do so that she can benefit from sporting?” Keilar asked.

Hamill responded by again properly gendering Hernandez while saying she viewed him as the victim, and that he has probably been lied to his entire life.

“He cannot become a girl,” Hamill added. “What he can do is compete in the male category.”

Hamill also said she would be okay with Hernández competing in a separate category for transgender individuals, but maintained that having him compete as a girl was “not fair to female athletes.”

Moreover, she added these girls can’t speak out for fear of retaliation, which Hernandez’s mother has personally threatened.
