One of the craziest Democrats in Congress had an unhinged meltdown after not liking what Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had to say in response to her inquiry.
As ABC News reported, Hegseth testified before the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee alongside General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and acting Pentagon Comptroller Bryn Woollacott MacDonnell to discuss the administration’s upcoming 2026 budget request.
During the hearing, purple-haired Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) asked Hegseth what the Defense Department’s plan was to invest in submarine building. This is a critical national security issue, particularly considering China, America’s most powerful adversary, has been rapidly building up its Navy.
“We are focused squarely on submarines, and we want to know where that (funding) is going and for what the continued investments are to meet our production levels and make sure that is an area covered for our national security,” DeLauro said.
Hegseth responded that he “appreciated” the committee’s commitment to submarines and started to point out that the Biden regime squandered several opportunities to invest in shipbuilding before DeLauro began screaming like a lunatic at the defense secretary.
“I want your plan!” DeLauro yelled. “I’ve had difficulty with the prior administration…What is your plan for the future?!”
“Can we get that in paper and in writing, so we know where you’re going?” she continued. “We don’t have anything today! We have Zip, nada, to help you know where you’re going!”
“We can talk about percentages…But unless this committee sees dollars and cents and where you’re going, then we may reconsider what you need to do to go forward.
“Give us the details!”
“My hope is we can get this before we go into a markup in a few hours!”
