JUST IN: DOJ Files Lawsuit Against Orange County California Registrar of Voters For Concealing Unlawful Registration of Non-Citizen Voters

The Justice Department on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against Orange County Registrar of Voters Robert Page for refusing to hand over records showing non-citizens are registered to vote and receiving ballots in federal elections.

“Orange County has undermined that confidence by (1) refusing transparency of its voter information, in violation of federal voting laws, and (2) concealing the unlawful registration of ineligible, non-citizen voters. Keeping voter registration rolls accurate and current ensures efficient and secure elections and promotes democratic engagement. Accurate voter registration lists are necessary to ensure only eligible electors can cast a ballot,” the lawsuit against Bob Page said.

The Attorney General recently received a complaint from the family member of a non-citizen in Orange County indicating that the non-citizen received an unsolicited mail-in ballot from the Defendant, despite lack of citizenship.
On June 2, 2025, the Attorney General requested the following documents from the Defendant:
1. Records from January 1, 2020, to the present showing the number of voter registration records in Orange County cancelled because the registrant did not satisfy the citizenship requirements for voter registration.
2. Records from January 1, 2020, to the present related to each cancellation described in Request No. 1, including copies of each registrant’s voter registration application, voter registration record, voting history, and related correspondence sent or received by the County of Orange Registrar of Voters in regard to the registration.

“Voting by non-citizens is a federal crime, and states and counties that refuse to disclose all requested voter information are in violation of well-established federal elections laws” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “Removal of non-citizens from the state’s voter rolls is critical to ensuring that the State’s voter rolls are accurate and that elections in California are conducted without fraudulent voting. The Department of Justice will hold jurisdictions that refuse to comply with federal voting laws accountable.”

Allowing non-citizens to vote in elections is a violation of the American people’s right to determine their future.

US Attorney Bill Essayli said California must comply.

This morning @AAGDhillon and my office filled a lawsuit against Orange County for refusing to hand over records showing non-citizens are registered to vote and received ballots in federal elections. The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) is federal law and CA must comply. https://t.co/bkfdn8I96U

How did Orange County turn blue again in 2024 when President Trump shifted California red?

There was a massive red wave in California after President Trump carried the down ballot in the 2024 election.

Californians were so fed up with Democrat policies that led to rampant theft they voted in a 71-21 landslide in favor of Prop 36 to increase penalties for theft and drug trafficking.

However, Democrat congressional candidates somehow ousted GOP incumbents in Republican strongholds like Orange County.

The Democrat machine took congressional seats in Orange County, a conservative enclave in Southern California.

Democrat Derek Tran unseated Republican incumbent Michelle Steel in Orange County, California’s bright red District 45, more than 3 weeks after Election Day.

Democrat David Min defeated Republican Scott Baugh in Orange County’s bright red District 47 one week after Election Day.

The Gateway Pundit conducted an exclusive interview with Orange County Registrar of Voters, Bob Page one day after a bomb scare was emailed in and caused an evacuation.

TGP was also given access to Orange County’s ballot processing center and observed a very orderly, organized, and secure facility.

Bob Page was very accommodating and transparent and answered every question without hesitation so why is he allegedly refusing to hand over records related to ineligible voters?

Bob Page’s office responded to The Gateway Pundit’s request for comment on the lawsuit: “The County does not comment on pending or ongoing litigation.”
