Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Trial: Prosecution’s 5-Hour-Long Final Arguments Allege That Sex Trafficking Is ‘The Brutal Crime at the Heart of the Case’

If convicted, Diddy faces up to life in prison.

And so, we’ve come to the final arguments in the high-profile, high-stakes sex-trafficking criminal trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

Yesterday (26), the prosecution took almost 5 hours in their summation, and the defense is expected to finish their own allegations today, with the jury deliberations set to start on Monday.

The prosecution described Diddy as ‘a crime boss who abused his status as a powerful hip-hop mogul’ and forced his former ‘girlfriends’ into debasing sexual marathons, as a terrifying mogul using his fame, fortune and his employees to cover for his alleged crimes.

The New York Post reported:

“’He thought that his fame, wealth and power put him above the law — but over the course of this trial, his crimes have been exposed’, Assistant US Attorney Christy Slavik told jurors in closing statements.”

Prosecutors reminded the jury how Combs paid a security guard $100,000 cash in to get the ‘only copy’ of CCTV footage of him brutally beating Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel.

“’The defendant used power, violence and fear to get what he wanted’, she said. ‘Dozens of witnesses agreed – he doesn’t take no for an answer’.

[…] To convict on the racketeering rap, jurors will need to find that Combs was the kingpin of a crew that plotted at least two alleged crimes. They’ll have several choices: the car arson, sex trafficking of Ventura and Jane and the alleged bribe to the security guard.

Prosecutors said Combs should be found guilty on each of the two sex-trafficking counts — which carry a minimum 15-year prison sentence — even if only one of the countless sex sessions described by Ventura and Jane was coerced.”

Cassie and ‘Jane’ testified that Diddy threatened to release tapes of their sex sessions if they did not obey his demands.

“’He held these sex tapes over her head as collateral’, Slavik said, speaking about Ventura. ‘The freak-offs themselves became a way to coerce her into doing freak-offs’.”

Prosecution: ‘This is what happens if Cassie said ‘no’ to Diddy’.

During the final arguments, the prosecution explained the four elements of racketeering: a conspiracy to participate in the criminal enterprise, interstate or foreign ‘commerce’ (girlfriends and escorts), knowing and willful participation as Diddy arranged for drugs and prostitutes to travel across state lines, and finally: agreement that he and ‘members’ would commit racketeering acts related to sex trafficking, drugs, bribery and arson.

According to the feds, Diddy committed three acts of kidnapping: one against Cassie in 2009 when he stomped on her face and hid in a hotel while her injuries healed; two against former assistant Capricorn Clark: one when he made her take a lie detector test, and when she was allegedly woken up to help the drugged and armed rapper look for rival Kid Cudi in 2011.

It’s also alleged by prosecutors that Diddy was ‘100 percent behind Kid Cudi’s car blowing up’.

Jane was allegedly forced to continue to have sex by Diddy even after she vomited at ‘sobriety party’.

Prosecutors also reminded jury of the alleged ‘sick sex act’ in which he forced Cassie to be peed upon by escorts.

And, of course, there’s the Cassie beating CCTV video.

Daily Mail reported:

“’The incident should leave no doubt the defendant committed sex trafficking; he chased her and beat her and tried to drag her back to the room,’ Slavik told the jury.

She said this proves he was ‘using force and coercion to get Cassie back to that room’ so ‘they could finish the freak off’.

Slavik added that the video was proof of what happens when Cassie ‘said no’ to Diddy.”

Final statement in prosecutor’s closing argument:

“To end her closing argument, Slavik finished with this: ‘A lot of evidence was hard to hear, hard to see. The defendant ran his criminal enterprise with total control and with the loyal assistance of his inner circle.

Foot soldiers, personal assistants… who knew their one job was to say yes to the defendant. All of this [paints a] clear picture of how the defendant committed crime after crime for two decades, how he didn’t take no for an answer….

Up until today the defendant was able to get away with these crimes because of his money, his power and influence. That stops now, it’s time to hold him accountable.’ she ended.”
