A media talking head inadvertently busted the narrative put forth by her bosses and the Democratic Party by revealing some disturbing experiences with DC crime, including her own.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, President Trump today invoked Section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act to place Washington, DC’s Metropolitan Police Department under “direct federal control” and authorizing the Secretary of Defense to deploy National Guard troops in Washington, DC. Section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act allows the President to take control of the Metropolitan Police Department under “special conditions of an emergency nature.”
He also signed a Presidential memorandum directing the Secretary of Defense to utilize National Guard troops to clean up DC and authorizing state governors to use their National Guard troops at home. “We will bring in the military if needed,” Trump told reporters.
This announcement comes as crime in DC has reached unprecedented levels. Local officials, though, have been cooking the books to make it seem like things are not out of control, and the media is happily spreading garbage stats like violent crime being at a 30-year low in DC.
But someone forgot to give ABC News anchor Kyra Phillips the script because she dropped some truth bombs on her viewers following the press conference.
First, she played down the so-called crime statistics by noting what has been happening outside her place of work.
“We have been talking about the numbers…’Well, stats say crime is down,” Phillips began. “However, I can tell you firsthand here in Downtown D.C., where we work, right here around our bureau, just in the past 6 months, there were two people shot. One person died literally two blocks away.”
She then revealed her own harrowing encounter with crime in the nation’s capital.
“It was within the last two months that I actually was jumped while walking just two blocks down from here,” Phillips explained.
She further blew up the narrative closed by revealing one of her co-workers was a victim THIS MORNING. Think Trump’s announcement was timely?
“This morning, one of my co-workers said her car was stolen just a block away from the bureau,” Phillips said. “So, we can talk about the numbers going down, but crime is happening every single day because we’re all experiencing it firsthand while working and living here.

One can imagine ABC considering canning this brave woman for making them look bad. Look out for a possible press release confirming Phillips’s firing shortly.
