MSNBC Apologizes for Pundit’s ‘Unacceptable’ Comments Blaming Charlie Kirk’s ‘Hate Speech’ for Assassination, Suggesting He Was Shot by Excited Supporter

MSNBC has issued an apology for “unacceptable” comments made by one of their analysts following Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Kirk was brutally murdered in broad daylight during a Comeback tour event he was hosting at Utah Valley University.

He was just 31 years old.

Moments after the shooting was reported, the network hosted the Democratic political consultant Matthew Dowd, who accused Kirk of propagating “hate speech.”

“But following up with what was just said, he’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech, or sort of aimed at certain groups,” he remarked.

”And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions.”

At another point, Dowd suggested that his death may have been caused by a supporter shooting their gun in celebration.

“We don’t know the full details of this,” he remarked. “We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration. So, we have no idea.”

There is a special place in hell for scumbags like Matthew Dowd.

MSNBC should issue an apology and ban Dowd from their network permanently.

We have to be better than this.

Turns out the “maybe a supporter shot him” pundit is Matthew Dowd, who then basically blames Charlie for the attack: pic.twitter.com/40iD2LCG0f

MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler has now issued a response to the backlash over the comments.

“During our breaking news coverage of the shooting of Charlie Kirk, Matthew Dowd made comments that were inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable,” she wrote.

”We apologize for his statements, as has he. There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.”

Whether MSNBC decides to fire Dowd for his disgusting comments remains to be seen.
