Luke Hoffman is a father, husband, and hardworking American whose life was torn apart after January 6. Alongside his wife, Kari, he is raising eight children, six of them still minors, while trying to put the pieces back together after the heavy hand of government persecution.

The Hoffmans’ story is heartbreaking. What began as a peaceful trip to Washington, D.C., to stand for their constitutional rights turned into a nightmare that continues to this day. Kari, newly pregnant at the time, was assaulted with tear gas, pepper spray, and flashbang grenades. She recalls, “The trauma left me with a threatened miscarriage. I almost lost our child that day.”
But the pain did not stop there. The FBI later raided their Kentucky home with more than 25 armed agents, pointing guns at their children, dragging them into the heat of a garage without food or water, and threatening to shoot the family’s dogs. Kari describes the horror: “The raid was so extreme that I thought my husband was living a double life and that he had murdered someone. They wouldn’t even tell me why they were there.”
“Compounding this hardship, our pregnancy, which should have been a time of joy, was overshadowed by profound sorrow, as we knew Luke would soon be taken away, leaving our newborn son to grow up without knowing his father.”
Luke was charged in the D.C. courts, where nearly every defendant is convicted. Fearing the possibility of decades in prison, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 months. While President Trump’s pardon brought him home, the damage to the Hoffman family was already immense. Their once-thriving contracting business collapsed, clients abandoned them, and debts piled high. They are now struggling with overdue mortgage payments, broken equipment, and even the threat of foreclosure.

Despite the wrongful prosecution that Luke faced for his alleged involvement in the January 6 events, one of their only clients, who continued working with them during that challenging time, then failed to pay him, leaving Luke owed by this client over $30,000.
Kari explains:
“We would love to be able to not struggle and to be able to answer our phones without worrying about what debt collector is calling. We want to pay what is owed, but this has drastically affected people’s trust in us, and that makes it hard when we don’t have the client trust we once had.”
This family’s testimony is not only about their own suffering but also about the weaponization of government against ordinary Americans. Despite everything, they remain strong in their faith, deeply grateful to President Trump for his mercy, and determined to rebuild.
Now, they are reaching out to the community for help through their GiveSendGo fundraiser: https://givesendgo.com/GDABF. Every donation goes directly to keeping a roof over their children’s heads, restoring their business, and helping them recover from the trauma inflicted by the FBI raid and the D.C. courts.

This is not just about the Hoffmans. Their story represents countless other January 6 families suffering in silence. Thankfully, resources like StopHate.com are working to give them a voice. At StopHate.com/SHDOD, you can find a comprehensive list of J6er fundraisers and ways to support other families like the Hoffmans who have been left in financial ruin.
But today, the urgent need is clear: Luke and Kari Hoffman’s family is at risk of losing everything. Their young children deserve stability, warmth, and the chance to grow up knowing that Americans still take care of their own.

Please, if you are able, consider making a donation today to their GiveSendGo campaign here: https://givesendgo.com/GDABF. If you cannot give, you can still help by sharing their story widely—in your community, at your church, and on social media.
The Hoffmans have sacrificed so much. They stood up when their country called, and now it is our turn to stand with them. Together, we can ensure this family survives the storm and begins to rebuild.
