The Trump administration has made it clear that it will not tolerate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) indoctrination continuing to infect America’s educational institutions.
American colleges and universities—even many private and nominally religious ones—have long been known for their strong left-wing bias and tendency to rewrite history.
They train students to dismiss conservative values and become an echo chamber for radical leftists.
Their success at warping young minds was on full display as memorials for Charlie Kirk, following his political assassination, were vandalized, and Turning Point USA members, working to keep Charlie’s message and memory alive, have come under continued attacks.
Despite the clear message, two Catholic colleges in Minnesota tried to sneak a DEI requirement into a job listing for a professor.
The joint ad, from Saint John’s University and the College of Saint Benedict, asked for an application that has ‘demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion’ as a requirement.
After pushback, the two colleges quietly ditched the requirement and updated the ad.
Saint John’s University in Collegeville and the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph are sister schools that jointly posted the job advertisement for Visiting Assistant Professor – Political Science that listed “Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion” under “Required” qualifications.
On Oct. 27 at approximately 3:30pm, Campus Reform reached out to school administration, members of the CSB/SJU Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) Advisory Board, as well as the Senior Diversity Officer, Sandra Mitchell for comment.
While Campus Reform did not receive any responses from any of the contacted parties, less than 24 hours later, the requirement was removed from the university’s employment website by Oct. 28 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
President Trump has dismantled nearly all DEI programs across the federal government and has put much of the focus on education.
The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights warned K–12 schools, colleges, and universities that they risk losing federal funding if they use race in admissions, hiring, or training.
The administration accused institutions of “toxically indoctrinating students” with systemic racism narratives and ordered them to dismantle DEI programs.
Harvard and Columbia were given additional directives requiring external audits for “viewpoint diversity,” restrictions on student groups, protest mask bans, and full cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security.
Columbia complied after $400 million in funding was suspended, while Harvard refused and had $2.2 billion in grants frozen.
Campus Reform maintains a DEI tracker with the latest DEI state bans that prohibit public universities from imposing equity-driven classes and programming on students and staff. To date, 22 states have passed DEI bans and an lawmakers in another 12 have introduced similar legislation.
