Florida police have released bodycam footage showing the moment they pulled off an incredibly heroic rescue of an innocent child whose life hung in the balance as he was being choked by a suspect armed with a knife.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) revealed that deputies responded to a domestic violence call at home in Brandon shortly after 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The caller explained to officers that 27-year-old Mario Camacho had a knife to their 7-year-old brother’s throat and was choking him.
Once the deputies arrived on scene, Camacho barricaded himself with his brother in a back bedroom.
In the footage released by the HCSO, the sheriff’s deputies, one male and one female, announce their presence and demand that the suspect show himself and release the child, who screams for help.
“Drop the knife and bring the child out of the room,” the male officer says.
The officer then repeats his instructions a second time. After the suspect refuses to respond, the officers bust down the door.
“Show your hands right now!” he yells. “Let me see your hands right now!
“You are going to get shot!” the female deputy says.

The suspect, who is wearing a helmet again, refuses to let the child go. The male officer then maneuvers around the sofa, which was lying against the door.
“Let me see your hands right now!” The male deputy shouts. “I will f**king kill you!”
“Drop the knife! Drop it!” he continued screaming before firing a bullet at the thug’s head.
The cops then take the child to safety.
Camacho was later transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to the bullet wound and was pronounced deceased at 2:47 p.m.
The heroic deputy was identified as 25-year-old Antonio Gonzalez. He has been with the HCSO for almost six years, spending five years as a Detention Deputy and 11 months as a Law Enforcement Deputy.
Gonzalez has been placed on administrative leave with pay until the investigation concludes.
