John F. Kennedy’s grandson Jack Schlossberg announced on Tuesday that he is running for Congress is running for the U.S. House next year in the New York 12th district.

Schlossberg, an unhinged Trump-hater, is hoping to take over the New York City seat vacated by Democrat Jerry Nadler.

The New York 12th District includes the Upper West Side, the Upper East Side, and Midtown Manhattan. The district’s per capita income is the highest among all districts in the US.

The Gateway Pundit has reported on this gasbag over the years. Schlossberg is famous for accusing Vice President J.D. Vance of killing the pope.

Vance, a Catholic convert since 2019, had a brief private meeting with the pontiff at Casa Santa Marta on Easter Sunday.

The meeting lasted about 15–17 minutes, during which they exchanged Easter greetings.

It was an honor to meet with Pope Francis, Prime Minister Meloni, and Church officials in Italy this weekend.

According to reports, Francis gifted Vance chocolate Easter eggs for his children, a Vatican tie, and rosaries. Vance noted the Pope’s frail health but expressed appreciation for the audience.

The meeting followed an initial rebuff on April 19, when Vance met with Vatican officials instead of Francis, which some interpreted as a snub due to their disagreements, especially on immigration.

Hours after that historic meeting, the world learned that Pope Francis had passed away at the age of 88.

Schlossberg seized on the moment to weaponize the Pope’s death for cheap political points.

The inflammatory and partially facetious post read, “Okay JD killed the pope.”

But Schlossberg wasn’t done.

On Instagram, the far-left heir to the Kennedy doubled down on his smear campaign, posting another inflammatory message with a photo captioned:

“WHAT DID JD DO ? VP OF LITTLE FAITH meets with Pope YESTERDAY, today Pope dies

Pope Francis is an incredible, towering figure who transformed the Catholic Church to be more DIVERSE EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE.

his parting gift to us was the fact that he did not like JD VANCE , VP of little Faith, at all”

Schlossberg also attacked his cousin Robert Kennedy Jr. during the election from his car and openly endorsed Old Crooked Joe Biden.

In his announcement that he is running for Congress, Schlossberg accused President Trump of personally making almost a billion dollars this year.

Grok responded to that accusation: No, President Donald Trump did not make almost a billion dollars in personal income (e.g., cash earnings from salaries, royalties, or sales) in 2025. His reported personal income for 2024—the most recent full-year disclosure available as of mid-2025—was over $600 million, primarily from cryptocurrency sales, golf clubs, and licensing deals. For 2025, partial data through the first half of the year shows Trump Organization earnings of $802 million from crypto alone, but Trump’s personal share of this is estimated at roughly $463 million (after family splits and costs), far short of $1 billion.

And Trump’s gains have little to do with his White House stay.
